TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE: SECTION OF CEDARS OF LEBANON ROAD BETWEEN MANHATTAN ROAD AND CREPT MYRTLE DRIVE

Road Closure to Begin Morning of July 28; Anticipated to Last Several Days

(JACKSON, Miss) – The City of Jackson will close a section of Cedars of Lebanon Road between Manhattan Road and Crepe Myrtle Drive. The City of Jackson has hired a contractor to repair an eight-inch sewer main that has collapsed near the Cedars of Lebanon Road Bridge structure. The contractor will begin placing traffic control signage out tomorrow morning, July 28, to begin the road closure. The City anticipates having the road closure in effect for several days, weather permitting. The City of Jackson encourages motorists who travel east and west on Cedars of Lebanon Road to find alternate routes.

Cedars of Lebanon is located between North State Street and I-55 South Frontage Road. During the road closure, access to Cedars of Lebanon Road to Manhattan Park will be closed off. Manhattan Park can be accessed off Manhattan Road during construction. The Department of Public Works advises all motorists to respect all traffic detour signage, and reduce speeding while in work zones.
