Certain areas in the City of Jackson have been placed under a MANDATORY EVACUATION due to the risk of SEVERE FLOODING. With the Pearl River expected to crest at 38 feet on SUNDAY, February 16, 2020, citizens living in low-lying areas are urged to leave their homes no later than SATURDAY, February 15, 2020. Long term shelter has been made available at the Jackson Police Training Academy (3000 St. Charles Street, Jackson, MS 39209). Residents are advised to keep an emergency supply kit on hand.
