Effective August 4, 2020: Citing the need for stronger action to flatten the curve of COVID-19, Mayor Lumumba has signed the Third Amended Stay Safe Jackson Executive Order which orders bars to close for inside service. All bars, nightclubs, lounges, taverns, and private clubs located in the City of Jackson shall close, except to the extent that such establishments ONLY provide take-out, pick up, delivery or drive-through services as allowed by law. Businesses found in violation will be shut down for 24-hours and must submit an Attestation of Compliance with the City of Jackson before reopening. Mayor Lumumba has also issued a Mayoral Curfew Order in the City of Jackson effective August 6th at 12 midnight - 5 am for the next five days. What documents and/or drawings (plans) are required for submittal of a residential permit application?

    • The following items are required for residential new construction applications:
      • City of Jackson Certificate of Liability Insurance
      • Copy of State Contractor’s License
      • Copy of your Privilege License
      • A signed contract between the Contractor and the Owner:
      • Total cost of the job & total price of all the subcontractors
      • Completed Construction Permit Application Form for One & Two Family Dwelling & Related Construction: Includes square footage calculations for heated, unheated, covered exterior spaces, and paving. 
      • Three (3) sets of site drawings showing: 
      • Two (2)  complete sets of drawings
      • Water and Sewer location
      • Silt Fencing
      • Driveway width and radius: Size of your driveway
      • Setbacks of all four sides (Front, back and two sides)
      • Plumbing riser diagrams
      • Electrical riser diagrams
      • HVAC layout with heat loss & heat gain
    • Building Code Analysis for Commercial Plans which consist of the following items:
      • Summary of Project
      • Contact Person
      • Occupancy Classification
      • Construction Type
      • Automatic Sprinkler System
      • Fire alarm calculated Occupant Load
      • Exit Capacity
      • Minimum number of exists
      • Travel distance and dead end length
      • Fire resistive requirements
