How can I obtain property currently owned by the City of Jackson that is not tax-forfeited property?

Land and buildings no longer needed by the City of Jackson may be acquired through the bid process or by prior agreement with the City to purchase the property at fair market value as determined by the average of three appraisals. Under normal circumstances, the City will not declare such property surplus until after a prospective buyer expresses an interest with the submission of a mandatory Surplus Property Application. The Surplus Property Committee will then vote to declare the property as surplus and follow the process required by state statute to dispose of the property.
