As a precaution, City Hall and all non-essential city government offices, including our Senior Community Centers and Early Childhood Development Centers will be closed until April 17, 2020. Press Release: JPD Officers Involved in Mario Clark Case Face Termination for Multiple Violations

(JACKSON, Miss.) – Mayor Chokwe A. Lumumba and Jackson Police Chief James Davis have terminated three police officers and their supervisor based on the findings of an internal affairs investigation into the Mario Clark case. The investigation revealed multiple violations of the officers’ general orders.

According to the findings, the officers also failed to file the necessary reports concerning the incident.

The FBI is continuing to investigate the allegations of excessive force. The termination of the officers is independent of the FBI investigation.
