The City of Jackson’s Water and Sewer Business Administration office in the Metrocenter Mall will be closed Monday, March 27 until further notice.

The Metrocenter was damaged during Sunday’s storm. Water bills may be paid by phone or click here for payment locations.

The City of Jackson’s Department of Parks and Recreation Champion Dance Program in partnership with Hinds Community College’s Montage Theatre of Dance will celebrate Black History Month with a tribute to black cinema classic: “The Five Heartbeats! For the Soul Music Lover in all of us.” The Five Heartbeats is a rhythm and blues singing group who performed to great acclaim in the 1960s. The dance production will showcase the rise and fall to fame and fortune in the music industry as they dealt with racism, greed, and addictions.
 
The programs will perform the dance production on Saturday, February 4 at Thalia Mara Hall. 
 
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will start at 7 p.m. 
 
Advanced tickets are $5 dollars and can be purchased this week at the administrative office of the Department of Parks and Recreation in the Metrocenter Mall. (1000 Metrocenter, Suite 104) Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
 
Tickets will be sold at the door the night of the event for $10 – CASH ONLY.
