Effective June 30, 2020: Per the Second Amended Stay Safe Jackson Executive Order, individuals in the City of Jackson are required to wear a face covering in public. Business owners must require all parties (employees, patrons, etc.) to wear a face covering. Businesses found in violation will be shutdown for 24-hours and must submit an Attestation of Compliance with the City of Jackson before reopening. Garbage Collection Schedule

The City of Jackson provides residential garbage collection service twice per week to dispose of household trash generated from your property to citizens who live in single family homes, duplexes, and triplexes.

  • Couch
  • Toilets

Garbage collection services begin when water/sewer services are established. To apply for these services, visit the Water Service Business Administration located at 1000 Metrocenter Drive, Jackson, MS 39209. 

Holiday Collection

Your regular collection day for trash and recyclables during the holidays will not change unless your collection day falls on or after one of five holidays.

  • New Year's Day
  • Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday
  • The Fourth of July
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

Example: If your normal collection day falls on or after one of the five holidays listed above, then your garbage will be collected on the following collection day.
