Billy F. Johnson, Division Fire Chief

Billy F. Johnson, currently serves in the rank of Division Chief of the Training, Safety, Research & Development Division. He is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a comprehensive training program and curriculum for all fire department personnel.

Chief Johnson began his fire service career with the Jackson Fire Department in October, 1988. Since then, Chief Johnson has excelled through the ranks of the department and served in many capacities. He achieved numerous certifications such as Fire Instructor II, Safety Officer, Rope Rescue Technician II, Confined Space Technician, Fire Officer II, Search and Rescue Technician, Emergency Medical Technician, CPR Instructor, and others.

Chief Johnson presently serves on the Mississippi Task Force II Team and  Jackson/Hinds County Task Force Team and is a member of the Jackson Fire Department Honor Guard.

Chief Johnson stands strong with the biblical affirmation of Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.

In his leisure time, he loves serving and helping others and especially enjoys spending time with his wife of 32 years, Nikki and 3 sons, Javian, Jarrett, and Jordan.
