About Us:
The Department of Planning and Development is comprised of five offices: City Planning, Code Services, Economic Development, Transportation, and Housing and Community Development.

Our staff provides administrative and technical support to the following boards and commissions:

Transit Shelter Sealed Bid 

The City of Jackson is seeking sealed bids from qualified firms for the Bus Stop Improvement Program: Site Design, Engineering and Project Management Services for Bus Shelters, Benches, Bust Stop Signs and Associated Improvements on a Multi-Year Contract.

Interested firms may obtain a copy of a detailed Request for Proposals, and any proposal addenda by emailing Marilyn Guice . Official proposal documents can be downloaded from Central Bidding at www.centralbidding.com. Please reference IFB#2019-01.

Phase I and Phase II Parking Meter Project RFP

The City of Jackson (“City”) is seeking to complete a single spaced smart parking meter system complete with associated software, data, support, training, and maintenance. Meter solutions with the ability to be retrofitted to existing housings are preferred. The Vendor may offer any additional or related services that may complement the core Vendor Services that are the purpose of this procurement process.

Blight Partner RFQ

This Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) is being issued by the City of Jackson’s Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD). Consent Decree:

The City of Jackson entered into a Consent Decree to resolve a lawsuit alleging that the city violated the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by preventing people in recovery from alcohol and substance abuse from living in group homes in most residential areas.
