Mission Statement
The Office of Fire Investigations is a team dedicated to providing professional quality investigation service to meet the needs of our community. We will achieve this by creating an atmosphere that encourages innovation, professional development, and diversity. Our values are professionalism, courage, dedication, integrity, and compassion.

The Office of Fire Investigations is compiled of the following specialized units:

• Fire I Arson Investigations

• Sworn Law Enforcement Officers

• Accelerant Detection Canine Unit

• Intemal Affairs Investigations

• Pre-Employment Background Investigations

The team of fire investigators is comprised of experienced firefighters who are highly trained in origin and cause determination.If a fire's origin is considered to be accidental, the investigation by the fire investigators is complete and insurance company investigators will take over. If a fire is considered to be the result of the crime of Arson, the fire investigators will keep control of the case until someone is charged. All unsolved Arson related cases will remain under investigation indefinitely, since the crime of Arson does not have a statute of limitations.

We are located at 836 West Amite Street P.O. Box 17 Jackson, Ms. 39205. To speak directly with an investigator, dial 601-960-1498, or to send a fax, dial 601-960-2487 .
