Office of Publications
In Plant Printing
The Office of Publications Division, Department of Constituent Services is responsible for a major percentage of all City of Jackson printing. We provide color and black / white digital and offset high speed copies, coordination of all outside printing orders, coordination of all type-setting and graphic services. Finishing is also provided on an as needed basis.

Every effort is made to provide quality service in a timely, cost efficient manner. The Publications staff assists customers in the following areas:

• Plan overall job
• Select format and type-style
• Select paper grade, color and size
• Choose ink colors
• Design complete printed piece (appointment only)
• Plan color reproduction
• Provide estimates of cost and time required

All services provided through the Office of Publications must be submitted on a printing requisition form (one order per form) that has been approved by Division Supervisor or Division Manager. This form changes each fiscal year. (October 1) The Printing requisition must include special paper or ink requirements and all other pertinent details. A copy of job must also accompany requisition. Special orders or color copies will be billed to the requesting division. 10 working days must be allowed for completion of all printing orders. Special rush requests will be handled on a priority basis. However, during peak periods, jobs should be scheduled in advance.

Graphic Design
Graphic services are provided on an as needed basis. Design for books, financial documents, brochures, fliers and posters, certificates are requested from all departments.

Black /White Digital Printing
The Ricoh ProEX907 and the Ricoh Pro1107 digital imaging systems deliver speed, flexibility and failsafe reliability that is needed to maximize productivity. These powerful systems deliver precise black & white output at speeds up to 110 pages-per-minute with versatile inline finishing. These systems are designed to ensure maximum up-time for high-volume copying, printing and scanning.

Flexible Finishing Options

These machines offer 100-Sheet stapling in two positions, 20-Sheet saddle-stitching (booklet maker), trimming and hole punching at speeds up to 110 pages-per-minute with extremely accurate registration. A new Multi-Folding Unit that offers six patterns, including Z-Fold, Half-Fold, Letter Fold-in, Letter Fold-out, Double Parallel Fold, and Gate-Fold. High-volume finishing jobs can be completed with the High Capacity Stacker, which stacks up to 5,250 sheets.

Color Digital Printing
The Canon imageRunner Advance 7055 multifunction printer, high-speed, high volume color/black and white copier prints at a speed of 55 pages per minute. We currently have two of these copiers, therefore, having a combined speed of 110 copies per minute. The 300-sheet capacity ultra-fast single-pass duplex scanner rapidly converts paper documents to digital files and scans at speeds of up to 200 images per minute (ipm). The option to scan to or print from a USB thumb drive is also available.

Flexible Finishing Options

These copiers have inline finishing options that include: Multi-position stapling, booklet-making, 2-and 3-hole punching.

All digital equipment is networked to print straight from the PC to provide a sharper image during the printing process.

Offset Printing
The Office of Publications currently has 2 offset presses. The ABDick 9810 is a two-color press which means it can run two colors at the same time. This press currently runs all the blue and silver used for business cards, letterhead stationery and envelopes. It also runs other documents that are two-color at no cost to the customer. The ABDick 360 is a one-color press which is mostly used for black print jobs which include envelopes, NCR and any basic forms.

Job Pick-up
When jobs are completed you will receive a notification card in interoffice mail, email or phone call to pick up your finished product.

It is the responsibility of the requester to send capable personnel to pick up all finished jobs.  SPACE IS LIMITED!
