Jackson Convention and Visitors Bureau Board
Member Details
This is a nine-member Board, serving 4-year terms.

Responsibilities
The Jackson Convention and Visitors Bureau Board oversees the convention and tourism business for the City of Jackson. This board is authorized by Senate Bill #3080 and is composed of representatives from the hotel, restaurant, and entertainment industry.

Jackson Metro Parkway Commission
Member Details
The City of Jackson has five members on this commission.

Responsibilities
Jackson Metro Parkway Commission is an inter-local cooperation Commission, authorized by Senate Bill 3076, the City of Jackson, Hinds County, and Jackson State University, to fulfill its statutory role to facilitate the implementation of the Metro Parkway Project and to advise the State Bond Commission regarding the necessity of issuing bonds.

Jackson / Hinds Library System Administration Board
Member Details
This is a seven-member board, serving 5-year terms.

Responsibilities
The Jackson / Hinds Library System Administration Board supervises the care and custody of all library property; it has employment and dismissal authority over all library personnel. It establishes salaries and submits an annual budget to the governing authority. This board has exclusive control of the system's finances, accepts gifts to the library, does all purchasing, disposes of all library materials, and does other acts necessary for the orderly and efficient management and control of the Library System.

Traffic Calming Committee
Member Details
This is a seven-member committee, serving 3-year terms.

Responsibilities
Traffic Calming Committee oversees the selection, implementation, evaluation, and removal of traffic calming devices within the City of Jackson after reviews and recommendations from the staff. The committee is responsible for holding public hearings and must develop and maintain a sample list of acceptable traffic calming devices used in the City of Jackson.

ADA Advisory Council
Member Details
The Jackson ADA Advisory Council includes one voting member representing each of the seven Jackson City Council wards, four organizations serving persons with disabilities and four nonvoting at large member agencies providing services to the disability community of Jackson as well as representatives from each of the City of Jackson departments. A total 25 members participate on this committee.

Responsibilities
The Jackson ADA Advisory Council mission is to be the communication and advisory bridge which links Jackson persons with disabilities community and the City of Jackson government.  The ADA Advisory Council provides input and makes recommendations toward bringing the public and private entities conducting business and/or services within the City of Jackson into ADA compliance.

JATRAN Transit Advisory Committee
Member Details
This is a five member committee.


Responsibilities
The JATRAN Transit Advisory Committee provides advice and recommendations to the City of Jackson, Transit Services Division staff regarding JATRAN fixed route operations. The Committee will also advise the City of any issues, concerns, comments, suggestions and improvements related to JATRAN fixed route operations. This is a five member committee.


Responsibilities
The JATRAN HandiLift Advisory Committee provides advice and recommendations to the City of Jackson, Transit Services Division staff regarding JATRAN paratransit operations. The Committee will also advise the City of any issues, concerns, comments, suggestions and improvements related to JATRAN paratransit operations.
