Internal Affairs


The Internal Affairs Division of the Jackson Police Department is responsible for conducting investigations relating to complaints and/or allegations of misconduct of a sworn or civilian employee, whether on or off-duty; violations of any policy and/or procedures; and violations of any other written directive(s) issued by the Chief of Police.


Personnel assigned to the Internal Affairs Division operate and carry out their duties under the direct authority of the Chief of Police.  All complaints received by the Jackson Police Department, and especially the Internal Affairs Division, shall be deemed confidential unless deemed otherwise by the Chief of Police or the Commander of Internal Affairs. 

The Internal Affairs Division is comprised of a unit commander, one lieutenant, one sergeant, and five investigating detectives.
