Emergency Home Repairs
The City of Jackson has designed the Emergency Home Repair Program to help homeowners over 62 years of age, residents with a disability or handicap, to make emergency repairs to critical areas of their home to allow them to live in a safe and decent house.

The program is available city-wide and administered to provide emergency repair to those systems in a home that drastically affect the function and ability to live in a functioning home. Applications are accepted in September yearly. 

Down Payment Assistance Program
The Down Payment Assistance Program provides low to moderate income first-time homebuyers with financing for down payments, closing costs, and other costs associated with the purchase of the home. The city's Office of Housing and Community Development is here to assist aspiring homeowners with the program's process and bring them one step closer to owning their first home.

Eligibility Requirements 

  • First-time homebuyers whose income does not exceed the maximum income limit adjusted for family size
  • Applicants who meet the credit eligibility requirements
  • Applicants with an acceptable credit profile
  • Applicant who has successfully completed an eight-hour homebuyer education class

 Property Requirements

  • Property must be primary residence
  • Owner occupied
  • Single family detached
  • Single family attached
  • Located within Jackson city limits
  • Inspected by a certified home inspector
