Code Services
Office of Code Services

The Office of Code Services protects the safety, health and welfare through the provision of building code enforcement, review and inspection, and the dissemination of code related information to the public.

Code Services administers and enforces building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fuel, gas, and swimming pool codes, city ordinances and state laws regulating construction as well as signs.  Our services includes plan review, permit issuance, and inspection of buildings and structures during the construction phase.

Code Services is comprised of two divisions: Building Permit and Signs and License

Codes and Permit Center

The Codes and Permit Center will serve as a one-stop shop to simplify the construction and development process by combining virtually all permit applications and review activities within a single office.

Before any construction begins, building plans must be submitted for approval and permits must be obtained.  After it has been determined that the land is properly zoned and platted, applicants must comply with the legal requirements to build a new structure, addition, and major remodeling.
