The National Weather Service monitors river stages and issues updates and flood warnings as necessary. For more information, click here

Pearl River Basin

The USGS, in association with the City of Jackson, operates seven real-time streamflow-gauging stations along the Pearl River and tributaries within the City. Here are links to real-time data for each station: 
  • Cany Creek (at Terry Road)
  • Eubanks Creek (at Wooddale Drive)
  • Hanging Moss Creek (at Interstate 55)
  • Lynch Creek (at Valley Street)
  • Town Creek (at Gallatin Street) 

    Additionally, the USGS operates the USGS Pearl River Basin Flood Tracking System. The system tracks river levels at gauging station along the Pearl River and its tributaries from Pearl River, La. to Louisville, Ms. The Pearl River Basin Flood Tracking System is available here. 

    Big Black River Basin

    Bogue Chitto Creek and Baker's Creek in west Jackson are a part of the Big Black River basin. The USGS, in association with the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, operates real-time streamflow-gauging stations along the Big Black River. The closest gauging station to Jackson are located along the Big Black River east of Bovina and south of Bentonia. Here are links to real-time data for each station: 
  • Big Black River (at Old Highway 80 east of Bovina)
  • Big Black River (at US 49 south of Bentonia) 

    Statewide

    In addition to the stations in Jackson, the USGS in association with federal, state and local agencies, operate real-time streamflow-gauging stations along streams throughout Mississippi. A full list of these stations sorted by river basins is available on the USGS Website.
