Welcome to the new “Going Green” Webpage! The City of Jackson is working to become a “green city” by striving to promote a culture of “green” awareness. We hope the information and practices we present here will have a positive impact on the City.



What is “Going Green” in the City of Jackson?


Developing The City of Jackson into a green city, where there is a concern and culture of:
  1. Conserving water and other natural resources
  2. Reducing energy use
  3. Recycling and using renewable materials
  4. Reducing pollution and other negative effects on the environment.

Benefits to the City of Jackson:

  • Save taxpayers' money on energy costs
  • Preserve and sustain resources for future generations
  • Provide a greener, more enjoyable city environment for the citizens
