The Patrol Division is comprised of Patrol Operations.  Patrol Operations consists of 4 police precincts, the Mobile Crime Unit, park rangers, reserve officers, and traffic enforcement. This Division is the "backbone" of the Police Department, answering over 19,945 calls for service per year.

The Traffic Unit includes Accident Investigation, Motor Unit, Parking Enforcement, and Downtown Patrol. Traffic is under the leadership of Chief Sampson and 3 sergeants.  A&I is assigned 2 personnel, 7 for the Motor Unit, 2 for Laser, 7 for Downtown Patrol, and 5 for Parking Enforcement.
