The Jackson Renaissance has begun in historic downtown and other key areas as evidenced by a variety of projects in various stages of completion. As the face of the City most frequented by visitors and tourists, downtown reflects the health of the City.

New Capital City Convention Center

New 204,500 sq. ft. convention center opened in January 2009.

Mill Street Viaduct Project

Located adjacent to recently restored Union Station between Capitol and Pearl Streets.

New Federal Courthouse

Downtown Jackson across from the Medgar Wiley Evers Post Office. Office space and court facilities for the Federal Government. Site work has begun.

State Government Capitol Complex

This improved Capitol Complex will consist of a new Justice Building and outdoor connections to office buildings and the State Capitol.
