The Jackson Renaissance has begun in historic downtown and other key areas as evidenced by a variety of projects which in various stages of completion. As the face of the City most frequented by visitors and tourist, downtown reflects the health of the City.

New Capital City Convention Center
New 204,500 sq. ft. convention center with construction scheduled to begin in early 2007.

Mill Street Viaduct Project
Located adjacent to recently restored Union Station, between Capitol and Pearl Streets. |

New Federal Courthouse
Downtown Jackson across from the Medgar Wiley Evers Post Office. Office space and court facilities for the Federal Government. Site work has begun.

State Government Capitol Complex
This improved Capitol Complex will consist of a new Justice Building and outdoor connections to office buildings and the State Capitol. |
