JATRAN operates 13 routes, Monday through Saturday from 4:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. JATRAN''S Handilift Service provides transportation to citizens with disabilities Monday through Saturday from 5:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

New buses and completion of the Multi-modal center, Union Station, have made connections with other public transit providers easier than ever.

Bus Stops “Bus Stops are marked with JATRAN bus stops signs located along routes throughout the City. Please use these designated stops to wait for arriving busses. Buses will also stop at most street corners assuming there are no safety hazards.

Destination Signs ”The sign on the outside of the bus or in the dash indicates the route name and destination of the bus. Before boarding the bus, be sure to check the destination sign to ensure you are on the correct bus. If you have any questions, the bus driver will help you.

Fares

Transfer Points

Transfers are issued to provide service between two points not served by a single route. Please ask the operator for a transfer when you board the bus. They cannot be used for a return trip and are only issued to customers who pay a fare of board with a JATRAN Pass. Transfers are free and valid for the next bus to your destination at locations where routes intersect. Transfers are valid for a maximum of 1 hour and 15 minutes after being issued. Helpful Hints ”Exact fares are required. Deposit your fare directly into the fare box. Operators do not carry change and are not allowed to handle fares. Eating, drinking and smoking is prohibited on buses. Do not play music on the bus or disturb the operator or other passengers in any manner. JATRAN maintains a lost and found service to assist with prompt return of lost items. Call 601-948-3840 to report lost items left on the bus.

Did you know you can travel to your special event for a very affordable price in a JATRAN Steel Magnolia Trolley? The familiar trolley is frequently used for transportation to weddings, tours, sporting events, proms, as a shuttle service, and on the Christmas Lights Tour. Advertising with JATRAN offers daily extensive exposure, target market capabilities and high levels of reach and frequency to the public. JATRAN has several options of advertising available on their Fixed Route System including interior, exterior and bus wraps. Advertising is also available on benches and shelters located throughout the City.

JATRAN serves the corporate limits of Jackson and has a total of 32 vehicles which offers the visibility of a moving billboard throughout the City. Buses travel in residential areas, shopping destination, and business districts and log in over one million of fleet miles annually. The annual ridership is 761,749 passenger trips.
