The Fire Marshal for the city of Jackson is Division Chief Michael Sterling. The Fire Marshal Office is regulatory and enforcement agency of the Fire Department under the directive of Fire Chief. The fire department along with the City of Jackson and the State of Mississippi has adopted and enforces the International Fire Code, 2003 edition and references codes and standards.

Our Office consists of the (1) Water Supply Officer, District Chief (5) Deputy Fire Marshal and (1) Secretary. Each inspector has a specific geographical territory. The territories are divided into five districts throughout the city.

We continuously strive to work with the building department, business owners, contractors, and other professionals to provide the safest environment for the citizens and the guest to the city of Jackson.
