Fleet Maintenance
The Fire Department Garage is responsible for the maintenance and repair of 37 fire apparatuses, which include Pumpers, Ladder Trucks, and Rescue/Pumpers. In addition to the fire apparatuses, maintenance is provided for all the Fire Department's support vehicles. There is an automotive technican on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Fire Department Garage manages a preventative maintenance program; assists in preparing specifications for vehicles/equipment purchased by the Fire Department; receives new vehicles/equipment and ensures that each meets the stated specifications; ensures technicians are trained on the repair techniques for new equipment; and coordinates and performs the annual pump test and ladder test.
