Mayor Frank E. Melton and his administration expressed deep sorrow upon learning that former Assistant Police Chief Roy Sandefer died this afternoon after a prolonged battle with cancer.

The Solid Waste Division is encouraging citizens in the City of Jackson to participate in Roll Off Dumpster Day on Saturday, May 10, 2008 by taking yard debris and other household items to one of the following locations from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., weather permitting.
